I’m taking a small break from my educational content to feature one of my favourite Edmonton engagement photo locations: The Muttart Conservatory! After sending over a recent engagement photo gallery to one of my couples last week, I knew I had to share a little bit of their session here on the blog because the photos were just SO GOOD. I even had a chance to get a little artsy and play with more grain in photos and I am a little obsessed with how it turned out.
Not a wedding photographer? More grain basically means the little dots that emulate what film used to look like. It’s an editing technique that results in beautiful, moody vibes and I’m kind of here for it. These two just pull it off!
If you have stumbled here because you are recently (or not so recently) gotten engaged and are excited to plan your engagement photos, let me extend a big virtual welcome! I have a TON of resources here on the blog to help you plan both your Edmonton engagement photos & wedding alike. If you like what you see, you can learn more about hiring me for your wedding here, or connect directly with me over here.
If you are brand new, here are a few of my favorite places to start:
Engagement Photos at the Muttart Conservatory
Once you start to scroll and see more pictures, it’s going to be crystal clear why one of my favourite Edmonton engagement photo locations is the Muttart Conservatory. The photos by the glass pyramids are ICONIC. Honestly, the outdoor location would be pretty enough, but coupled with a view of downtown Edmonton? It’s perfection. I met these two close to golden hour, my favourite time to shoot outdoor engagement photos, and I had so much fun just snapping photos of the two of them being madly in love.
(if you are curious, you can read more about my love for downtown Edmonton wedding photos here).
Gorgeous Outdoor Engagement Photos Downtown
Although I could easily spend hours *just* shooting at the Muttart Conservatory, one of the reasons it’s one of my favourite Edmonton engagement photo locations is that it is SO close to other dreamy locations. Beach nearby? Check. Outdoors Woods-y vibes? Yes. Gorgeous views of the Edmonton skyline? YES!!! If you are on the fence about the Muttart Conservatory (for some crazy reason!), here is just a little reassurance that if we book your engagement photos at the Muttart Conservatory, we will have access to a RANGE of beautiful backdrops. You really just need to bring your shiny new engagement ring and fiancé.
Found your engagement location? Don’t forget to pack some champagne!
This is just a little bonus tip (because I hope my photos have convinced you that the Muttart Conservatory is DREAMY). You being engaged is a BIG deal. No matter what your love story looks like, it’s time to CELEBRATE. I’m always going to want to celebrate two souls finding their person, and that’s part of my I love engagement photos so much. I recommend you head here next for a few more tips to plan your engagement photos, but if you aren’t into reading, just don’t forget to pack some champagne.
Meet me at the Muttart?
If you have ANY questions about planning your own engagement photos, or want to brainstorm ways to make your engagement photoshoot unique to YOU, you’ve come to the right place because that is quite literally one of my favourite things to do. If you haven’t yet, make sure to say hi over on Instagram. You can also connect with me directly here. I loveeeee talking to couples (I’m an extrovert!), so please don’t hesitate to start a conversation. Wedding planning can be hard, but dreaming about your photos should be the FUN part. At least I think so!
