Ahhh! I am so excited to talk about one of my favorite photography sessions: BRANDING PHOTOS!! As I work with more and more small business owners, my heart just fills to the brim with joy. Branding is an investment, but it’s one that has paid off in my own small business ten-fold. If you are wondering where to use your branding photos – I share 3 places you can use your branding photos here.
Stay tuned because over the next couple of weeks I am going to be sharing EVEN more about branding photos!
By the way, in case you are new around here, I’m Katie and I am an Edmonton wedding photographer so talking about branding photos is a little “off-brand” for me 😉. If you want more information about my wedding photography packages, you can check those out here.
Making the most of your branding session
Branding photography is an investment, so where do you even use your branding photos? I am so glad you asked, because part of my branding photography package INCLUDES helping you plan the types of photos you want before your session. But for the sake of this blog post, here are a few different ideas for where to use your branding photos!
Your Website
Having a few photos of you, your office space, or your products are imperative for your website. You likely invested a lot of money (and time!) to making your website look good. Don’t tarnish your website with sub-par photos! Depending on your type of business, you may want lots of different images or you may be able to get away with just a few excellent ones. Either way, you’re going to want to plan them out before we jump into action. Don’t worry, I help with this. You can contact me here to book your branding session.
Your launch / announcement
With Black Friday approaching, we are all thinking about our sales. Whether you are launching a new product or service, or sharing a fun new announcement, branding photography is a great (professional) way to share your message. Again, this is something I plan in detail with my clients but make sure to leave lots of room at the top (like above) so you have space to add text/a strong CTA (call to action).
Social Media Branding Photos
Yup, we all need endless social media content. Whether you get photos of you facing the camera or you get photos of you “in action” on the job, or ideally a mix of both. I usually break these down into 5 different categories of branding photos you may want for social media: Attention Grabbing Photos, Personal/About Me, Learn from Me (cure the glasses that you don’t really need to see), Buy from Me, and Stock Images (close ups of your desk or hands, for example). This is obviously a very brief overview but I wanted to give you an idea on the variety you want to capture in a single session.
Another Social Media Tip: While Pinterest and Instagram/Instagram Stories need horizontal (tall) images, Twitter and Facebook look best with horizontal images (wide).
Are you looking for an Edmonton branding photographer?
I would be honoured to be considered. Like I mentioned earlier, I am a small business owner myself so I truly value your investment into your business. Having great, professional-quality photos on your website and social media will stand out to your ideal client – especially if they are one with discerning taste (you know, like the luxury market we are all chasing for). I am a true believer that you have to invest in yourself and business before you can expect others to invest in you. I don’t take your investment lightly.
